Pinewood Derby

This years' Derby was filled with fun and excitement. Twenty-eight boys and their cars participated in an afternoon of racing. Each boy proudly presented his car to be inspected and weighed in. Once the preliminary work was done and the Pack had its opening ceremony Mr. Bucklund took over as MC. Mr. Bucklund has been helping Pack 1 with the Pinewood Derby for many years and as usual had the race running smoothly.
Each boy raced his car four times in the first round, once on each lane of the track. The cars, which finished in the top half of the pack, advanced on the second round. Racing continued until we had the four fastest cars.
Congratulations to the top four finishers.

Again congratulations and good luck at the District race.

February 2000

February is the time of our annual Blue & Gold Banquet. This years' theme was "Turn Back the Clock". Each Den was responsible for a decade during the 1900's. They learned something about the decade and then created a centerpiece depicting what they had learned and then shared it with the Pack. Each Den also created and performed an original skit. Each one was very creative and entertaining.

January 2000

Help! Look out for the snowstorm. A storm dropped about 3 inches of snow the day of our Pack Meeting and cancelled a lot of evening activities. We still had our meeting since the school was going to be open but attendance was scarce.
We had a Day Camp presentation and film (perfect timing) and the scouts who were able to attend created their own version of a Y2K bug. They took a bunch of left over materials and created. They scouts had a good time gathering and sharing during the storm.
